Introduce the key people behind your business

Admin bio

Your bio introduces the person behind the business.

Travellers on Horizon Guides are not just choosing a tour operator. They’re choosing the specialist they’ll be speaking to and planning their trip with. A short bio helps put a human face to your company and builds trust before the first enquiry even arrives.

Your expert contributions to the platform will be published under your personal name – make sure you choose someone who is a good representative and face of the business. In most cases this will be the owner, founder, lead guide, or senior travel consultant who typically works with clients.

To add or edit a bio, go to the Profile section in the partner admin area.

You’ll see the following fields.

Name

Enter the name of the person featured in the bio.

This should usually be the person travellers are most likely to interact with when they make an enquiry.

Profile photo

Upload a clear photo of the person featured in the bio. A natural, professional head & shoulders photo works best, alternatively choose an image that reflects your work, for example: guiding clients in the field.

Avoid logos or group photos. The purpose of this image is to show the individual behind the expertise.

Bio

(max 200 characters)

This short bio should describe the person’s background and expertise. Focus on a few key elements:

  • Your/their experience in the destination or type of travel they specialise in
  • How you/they got into this line of work
  • What you/they particularly enjoy about it

Because the space is limited, keep it concise and specific.

Examples:

Wildlife guide with 20 years’ experience in northern Tanzania. Passionate about tracking big cats and sharing the ecology of the Serengeti.

Bhutan travel specialist and former trekking guide. I love helping travellers experience the country beyond the usual routes.

Founder of Ethical Adventures and lifelong Northern Territory local, specialising in small-group cultural and nature tours.

A short, personal description helps travellers understand who they’ll be speaking to and why you’re an expert in your field.
